Everyday Geek 2: Yeah, we talk too much!
Episode #2 and I think we have improved audio quality so much that we kept talking just to hear it!
Crumbs from the Web:
- Windows 7 launch day is today. Did anyone attend a Launch Party?
- Apple announced new iMac, Macbook and Mac Mini models, and the new Magic Mouse.
- An interesting Computerworld article about the shift of Pirate Software from P2P networks to File-Hosting Websites.
- The Blackberry Bold 9700 gets released on Telus, Bell, Rogers, T-Mobile USA and AT&T.
- After a poorly-executed upgrade over at Microsoft there may have been some Sidekick Data-loss.
- Users can no longer repeat Twitter posts.
Geek Media:
- Wil Wheaton is guest staring on The Big Bang Theory. The episode aired on October 19, 2009.
Firefox Extension:
- IETab is a great extension that embeds Internet Explorer in Firefox. Instead of having to open a separate browser to view IE specific sites you can switch between Firefox and IE on the fly. You can also set a list of sites to always open in Internet Explorer
Website / Software Pick:
- Portableapps.com is really not a website but a software platform that let’s you bring your software with you. There are many apps available now and more being developed all the time and they just recently started allowing free software as well as the GPL software they’ve always had.
Tech Definition:
- SCSI – Small Computer Systems Interface.
